"Nobody cares how much you know, until they know how much you care." - Theodore Roosevelt
As sportsmen, we are faced with hundreds of decisions, large and small, each time we get out. Use this simple pledge as your guidepost. When you take it, you acknowledge your role as a sportsman or sportswoman represents more than simply enjoying your passion.
I will build goodwill and better relationships.
Be thankful and gracious to those with whom you come in contact. When in conflict, seek to understand, acknowledging that your point of view can only truly be shared by someone who feels what you feel. To feel it they must experience it.
I will do what is right, and follow the rules.
Sometimes the lines can be fuzzy, other times they are more clear. Choose to err toward actions that leave you with peace of mind. Leave no doubt.

I will preserve our outdoor heritage.
As our society urbanizes, it is only you, the sportsmen, who can pass along your love of the outdoors. Introducing your passion to others, making time to teach them, and encouraging their development as conservationists is work only you can do.
I will honor land and animal.
Acknowledge and respect that the game you chase was created on purpose, that it has value and that it gave its life in the name of your fair pursuit. The land or water from which it grew deserves to remain intact, unmolested by your presence and in a position to replenish that which you have taken from it.
