Hunter Education Classroom Course
Monday, Tuesday and Wednesdays classes will be held at the Water's Edge Nature Center at Smith Lake. Thursdays class will be held at the Izaak Walton League building across from Smith Lake. Students must attend all four sessions to complete the class. Students must pick up a student manual at the Water's Edge Nature Center prior to the class. The deadline for registration and picking up the manual is Friday, August 18th. Contact the nature center office at 515-295-2138 for more information.

About Iowa Department of Natural Resources
Iowa law requires that anyone born after January 1, 1972 must be certified in hunter education before they are eligible to purchase an Iowa hunting license.Typically there is no charge for the course, unless lunch is furnished or room rental is required. If a charge is required for the items mentioned previously, the class will indicate the amount to be charged in the special instructions section prior to completing the class registration process. All charges must be paid upon arrival to the class in the form of cash or check. Hunter Education Classroom courses are offered by knowledgeable and certified volunteer instructors and Iowa Conservation Officers.Classroom courses are typically 12-15 hours in length and are held over 2 to 3 sessions (days).
